About this place
At Tatre Meidaimae, the choux pastries are a natural place to start. Diners have praised the contrast of a crisp, crunchy shell and a generous filling of mildly sweet custard; another review noted the shell’s bite against the smooth cream. Plain is not the only option: hojicha and matcha versions are also available. If choosing just one proves difficult, trying a few sounds appealing.
For tart fans, the fruit tart has drawn praise for its crisp base, sweet fruit and less-sweet cream. Other diners have enjoyed the refreshing tang of the lemon tart or singled out the banana tart, making the choice of fruit part of the pleasure. The whole Tatre tart is 18cm, and the shop invites customers to ask about replacing the seasonal fruit with fruit of their choice.
Baked treats are another option to take away. One customer who bought a cookie box noted that it included 6 varieties, with 2 of each—an appealing selection for tea at home or as a gift.
